"The city of Vicenza and Palladio's villas in the Veneto region" have been named a UNESCO Site with a total of twenty-three palaces in Vicenza and twenty-four villas in the surrounding area.

The tour will start from the central Piazza dei Signori with its elegant monuments and we will take a walk around the city, including Corso Palladio, the main street of the city, up to Palazzo Chiericati, designed in 1550 for Girolamo Chiericati, also one of Andrea’s masterpieces Palladium. Embellished with frescoes and stuccos, the palace is enriched by one of the most prestigious European civic collections of paintings, sculptures and applied arts from the 13th to the 20th century.

We will not miss a visit to the Palladian Basilica, a masterpiece by Andrea Palladio (in case of closure we will visit the Church of Santa Corona, a splendid church founded by the Dominicans whose Gothic interior houses numerous important sculptural and pictorial works, including Giovanni Bellini’s masterpiece “The baptism of Christ”.)

Finally we will visit the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Monte Berico, and from the square in front you can admire a fantastic panorama of the city of Vicenza.
